When I say dieting, do you subconsciously tune me out because you don’t need to diet, or you’ve done diets before and are now looking for a non-dieting approach to reach your health goals? What if I were to tell you that no dieting opens the door to bad dieting? In this episode of my podcast, we dig into the word “diet” and how we should be approaching it.
Think you don’t need to diet?
The idea of dieting has been hijacked by the diet industry. Diets aren’t quick fixes or a list of “bad” foods and “good” foods. Simply put, a diet is what you habitually eat.
But, in this episode, I want to break down the stigma behind dieting. I also want to make it clear for you what I mean when I talk about your diet or dieting,
On the other hand, you may already be on a diet and aren’t currently looking for another one. However, it doesn’t matter if you’re keto, paleo, or counting your macros. What I teach about how to approach dieting can be applied to whatever “diet” you’re currently on.
Here are a few points from the episode…
- Unlike most health experts and enthusiasts, I intentionally use diet as a verb
- Even anti-dieters have diets
- Whether you like the idea of dieting or not, everyone is dieting by someone’s design
- We all need structure to our eating habits
